Omega Phi Beta struggles to overcome the injustices and oppression of women in our society. We celebrate the success of the women of our past, recognize the accomplishments of women today, and promote to uplift future generations. Recognizing that violence against women hinders progression, we have broadened the scope of our National Philanthropy to include ALL forms of violence affecting our gender, including but not limited to: Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Mutilation, Stalking and Human Trafficking.

Through our broadened National Philanthropy, Raising Awareness of Violence Against Women, we will continue to dedicate ourselves to our community while making a profound committment to women's rights. We acknowledge the rigorous battle that lies ahead. However, through our partnership with Amnesty International (est. June 2005), we believe that as a united front, we will have the power to achieve our mission.

Epsilon Chapter Cause: Cancer Awareness

Having experienced the sadness and recognizing the dangers of cancer firsthand, Epsilon Chapter chose to adopt Cancer Awareness as their chapter cause. The decision was made after the death of Epsilon Chapter Soror Anjanette Cabrera's father. CW Post is also located in Long Island, which has one of the highest breast cancer results in the country. Another soror, Sonia Mangual-Villanueva, of our Beta Chapter, was also diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Fortunately she overcame the disease through therapy and support. With all of these experiences Epsilon Chapter knew that Cancer was a cause that we should support. It is supported annually with a Cancer Awareness Banquet, co-sponsorship of a breast cancer Awareness Walk and hosting various other wrap-around events throughout the year.
